In the 21st century, family structures have undergone remarkable transformation, reflecting broader social, economic, and technological changes. This paper, “Evolution of Family Roles and Relationships in the 21st Century,” examines the shifting dynamics of familial roles, responsibilities, and emotional bonds within diverse cultural contexts. The study, positioned within the scope of Current Sociology, explores how globalization, digital communication, gender equality movements, and migration have redefined traditional family systems into more fluid, adaptive, and inclusive forms. It analyzes the transition from patriarchal and nuclear families to pluralistic structures that emphasize individual autonomy, shared parenting, and intergenerational collaboration. By integrating sociological theory and contemporary empirical insights, the research highlights how families negotiate identity, intimacy, and social cohesion amid rapid modernization. The findings offer a nuanced understanding of changing family patterns and their implications for social policy, community wellbeing, and future familial resilience.
